Carolina Haus Retreats is a small collection of thoughtfully designed homes, shaped by our belief that where you stay matters.
Each property reflects our approach to living well: light-filled spaces, considered materials, and details chosen for both beauty and ease. These are homes designed to be enjoyed — places that welcome gathering, rest, and everyday rituals, whether you’re here for a weekend or a season.
As designers, investors, and long-time hosts, we think carefully about how spaces feel to move through and to inhabit. Comfort is intentional. Function is quiet. Nothing is precious, and everything is chosen with care.
Based in Asheville, our homes are rooted in this landscape and this pace of life. We hope they offer a sense of arrival — and a place to settle in, however briefly, as if it were your own.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the lovely stay, and even more for the genuine heart and home that was woven into every turn and detail. We felt like you were very aware of us, thinking of us and caring about our joy and new beginning. Couldn’t have had a better beginning of the rest of our lives than this.
I have stayed in a lot of Airbnb’s, and this one was absolutely one of my top favorites. It is way more amazing than you can see in the pictures. Everything about our stay was perfect. The vibe May created in that space laid the foundation for a perfect trip with my girlfriends for my birthday. We will be back to do it every year.
I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was at May and Jon's tree house. It was a beautiful home in a quiet and beautiful setting. From the minute I clicked book communication was immediate and they were very interactive and proactive on instructions and details about what our stay would be like at their place. I would give them a 10 star rating but the app only allows for 5. ;-)
May was the best hostess ever. When I had to modify my stay due to a family emergency, she was incredibly accommodating and helpful—truly going above and beyond. Her cabin is pristine and beautifully decorated. It felt like the perfect retreat at just the right time. I couldn’t have asked for a better place—or a more thoughtful host.
This cabin was absolutely amazing! The location is wonderfully remote, making it peaceful and private—the perfect getaway. The cabin itself is decorated beautifully with thoughtful details that make it feel both cozy and stylish. We especially loved relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying evenings by the fire pit under the stars. Everything was spotless and well cared for. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing escape—we can’t wait to come back!

The Treehouse was AMAZING!!! The location was perfect, secluded enough to enjoy nature and close enough to town to enjoy all that the surrounding areas have to offer. May was a fantastic host, giving us recommendations, little tips, and checking in to see if anything was needed. She was so quick to respond whenever we reached out. The treehouse felt like a home away from home, and the little things left for us, such as, baked goods to welcome us, fresh ground coffee in the morning, and comical little signs left here and there, made our visit even better. We loved the area and even got visits from bear families every evening....of course from a safe distance. I highly recommend staying in this beautiful treehouse!!! Thanks for everything May.....see you again soon!!
The host is an incredible communicator, which can make or break an Airbnb experience. This is a gorgeous, clean, and romantic spot for a quiet getaway. I loved the style of the home and it lived up to the photos. I love the sense of humor in their signs and instructions around the home. Quiet neighborhood and plentiful parking.
The best Airbnb I’ve been in ever! This place is peaceful and beautiful! We even got to see bears! Matched the description and everything is absolutely perfect in this treehouse! Also the host is always here to help and make your stay perfect ! 100% recommend
This is by far the nicest ABNB I’ve stayed in anywhere in the world! The place is perfect, it’s exactly like the photos and exudes charm! May was super responsive and kind. The house is quiet, the instructions are clear, there is a level of care in everything that they did in the house… all of the attention to detail made it perfect. From the first interaction I had with May about accessibility for my 81 year old mom (3 steps with a railing to get in… very accessible and safe) to checkout and everything in between, May was lovely and our visit was exceptional. We will be back (if they will have us). If I could give it a zillion stars I would.
My guest and I couldn’t speak more fondly of this spot! May was a lovely host (the most communicative and responsive host I’ve ever had in AirBnB). The decor in the home was my absolute dream 💭. The back yard was amazing - a fire pit, a hot tub, fireflies and cows 🐮. The spot is perfect for those who love Asheville but also love to be away from any hustle and bustle. The kitchen was perfectly stocked as well - my crew loves to cook and we had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and the showers were gorgeous. I would definitely return!
